Find your way home

Exilio [Eg-zil-ee-oh]  Latin for Exile.
Def: ‘Someone who has been banished from their native land.’
Exilio. Strange name for an organisation, huh? 
 

Despite Facebook, Twitter, instant messaging and mobiles many people feel more disconnected than ever. We long for deep meaningful relationships - for an increased sense of harmony, significance and community - but often our experience is one of alienation. We sense something has gone terribly wrong with the world.  We feel there's a disconnect from others, from our planet and ultimately from God. Despite all the good we see and do - we seem incapable of dealing with the ‘bad junk’ in our lives that separates us from all that is good and at times we feel like exiles in our own world. 

Jesus mission was to put that ‘terrible wrong’ right, to deal with our ‘bad junk’ and to reconnect us with each other, with nature and with God. Jesus accepted people as they were - but somehow the encounter with his goodness changed them forever. For many, life became a daring adventure. In honour of Jesus his followers committed themselves to follow him as their guide and make a difference to their communities and beyond. In Exilio we want to tread in his footsteps and welcome fellow travellers to come on the journey.

So whatever your circumstances- single, married, single again, with or without children, gay or straight – no matter what you’ve been through or what you’ve done, Jesus tells us that you matter to God. And to us. So why not come home for the first time.
